NI Wrestlers Medal at the English Junior Championships
25th Feb 2025
NI Wrestlers with Coaches Bruce (Erne), Alex (Erne) and Stuart (NI Head Coach / Barbarians)
Northern Ireland's junior wrestlers took on the best of British talent at the English Junior Championships in Derby this past weekend, showcasing their characteristic skill and determination.
For some, this marked their first time at a major tournament and they made the most of it, never looking out of place demonstrating a great attitude and competing hard all weekend.
For the more seasoned competitors, this marked a chance to test themselves against the best the UK hand to offer and they didn't come away empty handed. Tomás (Erne) and Mark (Barbarians) put in stand out performances which placed them on top of the podium. Naoise (Erne) secured a Silver medal, a notable achievement for this talented young wrestler.
Kaia (Team Ryano) took home a Bronze medal and Kaidy (Team Ryano) narrowly missed out, finishing 4th overall on the day. No doubt these young wrestlers will be ones to watch for the future. An honourable mention also goes out to Jamie (Erne) who continues to improve with every outing, finishing 9th on the day.
As always a big thank you to the coaches Alex, Bruce, Stuart and Peter who made the trip and to all of our amazing wrestling families for their continued support.
